As we enter Father's Day weekend, Albany's movie-making church is capitalizing on its latest film to stress the importance of strong fathers.
Stars of "Courageous" took part in a program called Men of Honor Friday night at Sherwood Baptist Church.
It was simulcast around the world, hoping to help make better men.
Men from all over South Georgia poured into Sherwood Friday night, for many of them, there was one thing on their mind… How can I be a better father and husband?
"I think every dad should want to be the hero of his children's heart and should work to do that," said Sherwood's Senior Pastor Michael Catt.
The folks at Sherwood teamed up LifeWay Ministries and 900 other churches around the country, including Mt. Zion Baptist Church and their pastor Daniel Simmons.
"You look in the prison and you see a common denominator, the absence of a father. You look at street gangs and you see a common denominator, the absence of a father. When men learn about what God says about being a father, it can really make a difference," said Simmons.
Even the cast members of Courageous were on hand.
Ken Bevel, who played Nathan Hayes in Courageous, says his role in the movie made him a better father to his two children.
"God tells us to be intentional about fatherhood. That's what I took from the movie Courageous to be intentional about being a father. I want to pour into daughter's and son's life at every opportunity I can get," said Bevel.
Bevel even has a message for fathers out there who may be struggling in their relationships with their children.
"If we put our trust in God and ask God to lead us and guide us, show us how to lead our children, we'll come close to getting it right," said Bevel.
He hopes the hundreds of thousands who were able to take part in tonight event, left a better man.
That simulcast was shown in five countries around the world.
