Some farmers depend on technology..but if something goes wrong with their equipment..its important things are fixed as soon as possible and now one company is making that easier for hundreds of farmers in our area.
When Mike Tabb gets in his tractor the first thing he does..is turn on his GPS. It makes things more efficient for a farmer, saving time and energy. Nowadays, he depends on it. "We could live without it but we really don't want to. It's become so engrained as a part of our farming operation now," he said.
Technology has made life easier for hundreds of farmers but if something goes wrong with equipment that can sometimes be a big problem. "If he has problems with his Precision Ag products it can mean the difference in getting a crop in our out of the field," he said.
AG technologies is one company that provides that equipment to farmers all over our area. The company is based in Cordele but that's far away from some farmers. "During planting or harvest time it is crucial that we respond in a timely manner," he said.
Today, officials had a ribbon cutting ceremony for a brand new location that will be more convenient for some farmers who live far from Cordele."It is nice to know if we do ever have a problem it would be fixed immediately," he said.
The new location will give them faster response time to customers for installation and service. "We provide a full line of inventory here so we will be able to install as well as out of Arlington," he said.
For a farmer, timing is everything and a few hours make can or break the entire year.
