San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain threw the first perfect game in franchise history Wednesday night against Houston.
Working with Cain on the perfect game was his catcher Buster Posey.
The Leesburg native says he was nervous at times knowing what Cain was on the verge of accomplishing.
Buster Posey said. "For him to continue to spot up like he did. It is one of the most memorable moments I have ever had on a baseball field. It is something I am going to cherish."
Matt Cain said. "I felt like I had good stuff and I was locating the ball where I wanted to. Me and Buster were on page the whole night. I felt like probably the first time through the lineup that probably something could happen."
Cain tied Sandy Koufax's record for most strikeouts in a perfect game with 14.
His perfect game is the 5th no-hitter this season in Major League Baseball.
