A Dougherty County Police officer chased two suspected burglars away from a West Dougherty County store early this morning.
About 2:10AM, the officer spotted a suspicious 1999 Gold Chevrolet Tahoe parked next to Hard Times Car Audio on South Westover Boulevard.
When he went to investigate, the SUV sped away. About a half mile away on Phillips Drive, two men jumped out and ran.
"It was two black males and they took their shirts and put them over their heads so the officer couldn't tell what their identities were, and fled off into the woods," said DCP Captain Thomas Jackson.
The Tahoe was stolen, and police think the crooks may have been about to use it to smash down the door of the business.
