The shock remains in Valdosta after former Lowndes football star Ed Christian was one of three people murdered in Auburn, Alabama on Saturday night.
Ed Christian was one of the top rated offensive linemen in high school football when he signed with Auburn two years ago.
Lowndes head coach Randy McPherson says Christian was not only a great player but a great person off the field.
McPherson says this year's senior class at Lowndes were freshmen during Christian's senior year and his death has hit them hard.
Even though a back injury ended Christian's football career at Auburn, McPherson says Tigers head coach Gene Chizik says the Ed Christian remained close to the Auburn team.
Chizik says Christian attended team study halls and was committed to earning his degree.
