The Albany Panthers have wrapped up the top seed in the upcoming Professional Indoor Football League playoffs before Saturday's regular season finale at second place Richmond.
That is good thing for the Panthers.
The Panthers were able to win Saturday at Columbus without quarterback Cecil Lester.
He knocked out of the game after he was hit on the same knee he injured in April against Alabama and caused him to miss the Panthers loss at Columbus in early May.
With nothing to play for but pride Saturday, head coach Lucious Davis is going to play it safe with his starting quarterback against the Raiders.
Head coach Lucious Davis said "He is not playing this week for sure. I am going to rest him. We just have to hope it is nothing serious. Hopefully he will be ready to go when the playoffs come."
Panthers play at Richmond on Saturday night and host either Louisiana or Columbus in the PIFL playoffs on June 23rd.
