The family of a Miller County woman is mourning tonight after GBI investigators say the 58 year old was murdered by her husband, before he took his own life.

Nearly 48 hours after a gunman opened fire at a party near the Auburn University campus, the suspected triggerman remains on the run.

Desmonte Leonard is accused of killing three people and wounding three others Saturday night. Two former Auburn football players, including Valdosta native Edward Christian, are among the dead.

This isn't the first time Desmonte Leonard has been charged in a shooting.

The search continued today for arguably the most wanted man in Alabama..Desmonte Leonard..accused of shooting 6 people leaving 3 dead near the Auburn University campus..

"One of the most critical aspects of any crime of this nature is the united effort of all law enforcement agencies that are affected," said University Heights Resident Nate Conoly.  "We work together to pool all the resources to be absolutely relentless in the pursuit of this individual and that is exactly what we plan to do."

The 22-year-old's white Chevrolet was found abandoned yesterday more than 50 miles from the scene near Montgomery.

So far, two men have been arrested in the case. US Marshals charged Gabriel Thomas with hindering prosecution and today they arrested 18-year-old Jeremy Thomas on the same charge. Police aren't talking about a motive but witnesses say it may have stemmed from a fight over a woman.

Among the victims, 20-year-old Ed Christian, a former standout football player at Lowndes High School who went on to play at Auburn before leaving the team due to medical reasons.

Ladarious Phillips, another former AU player, and Auburn local 20-year-old Demario Pitts, died at the hospital.

It's a crime that's sent shock waves through the Auburn community.

"It's like right in my back yard. I'm kind like, what's going on? I've been here two years and we've never had anything happen like this," Conoly said.

Since 2008, Leonard has been charged with carrying a pistol without a license, And in 2009, he was charged with shooting a man in the groin. The case was later dropped. Most recently, he's been sued for unpaid child support and just last week a woman filed a paternity suit against him.

For now there is a big reward for his arrest and conviction.

Current Auburn offensive lineman Erika Mack was shot and expected to recover. Xavier Moss was released from the hospital, but a third wounded victim John Robertson remains in critical condition.

Police believe Jeremy Thomas was one of two men who left with Leonard after the shooting.
