It has not taken Berrien High pitcher Drew Harrelson long to decide his baseball future.
Harrelson flies to Arizona early next week where he will sign with the San Diego Padres.
The Padres picked Harrelson in the 12th round of this week's draft. The hard throwing right hander signed with Middle Georgia earlier this year but decided the Padres offer was one he could not pass up. Drew says his opportunity to play pro ball is due to the support from his family, coaches and Berrien High teammates.
"It is what I loved to . I have always wanted to do it. I think it will be a real good experience. Definitely a lot of thinking. Talking with my mom and my family. It has been a real tough decision. I like the way I took it."
Drew Harrelson is the second Berrien High played selected in the baseball draft in the last two years.
