
Georgia Southern's Chase Griffin has been named a freshman All-American.
The former Lee County Trojans is one of five catchers in college baseball to earn the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honor from Collegiate Baseball.
Chase Griffin, who was the Southern Conference's freshman of the year, batted .320 and hit 10 homeruns this season.
He was the first freshman at Georgia Southern to hit double figures in home runs in 16 years.
Chase Griffin is also the first freshman catcher at Georgia Southern to earn freshma All-American honors.
