ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Firefighters say an electrical wire in the attic caused the fire that destroyed a South Albany home late Sunday night.
Albany Firefighters responded to 429 Dorsett Avenue shortly before 11:30pm.
Smoke from the fire filled the sky as firefighters tried to put out the flames.
It took them more than forty minutes to have everything under control.
Venerious Harris was the home's occupant. The Red Cross was called in to assist the victims with temporary shelter.
