The college football season will start three months from Friday. That means there is still some time for some fun for the Albany State football program. Rams head coach Mike White hosted his annual golf outing to benefit the Rams program today at Flint River Golf Course.
This tournament continues to grow each year. Coach White is very proud of the large numbers of former Rams players who have come back to help the ASU program.
Former players like Freddie Brown, the first Ram to play pro football to the last player Walter Curry. The coach says the tournament has also included some stories about some of the outstanding plays these former Ram greats made during their days of wearing the dirty blue and gold.
White said "It is always interesting to see how the story has spent from one touchdown to two. This guy did unbelievable things for six years but you can only play four. The stories get funnier each year."
The Albany State youth football camp will start next Thursday.
