Clemson's Young readies for post college career

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Could a former Deerfield Windsor basketball star and Clemson guard be the next Albany native to find himself in the pros? Andre Young was back in Albany this weekend attending the J. L. Litman basketball tournament. Young says he was just taking a break from his workouts in preparation for the NBA draft.

In his senior year at Clemson, Young was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team as well as being named as an Honorable Mention to the All-ACC team.

The 5'9 point guard has been to several professional workouts and realizes with his height he's got to do a little extra to size up with the big guys who also dream of getting to the NBA.

Young said "With our height obviously we are at a disadvantage. We use our speed and try to make things happen in transition and try to play good defense. So I've been watching film on guys like that. Ty Lawson, Chris Paul, the Steve Nashes..things like that and just try to learn from their game."

Young says he's also considering playing professionally overseas if not in the NBA
