The Albany mayor wants the community to help clean up the city. Mayor Hubbard is committed to economic development and crime reductions for all of Albany.

That's why she's starting a new initiative to clean up litter in the city and get rid of dilapidated property, but she says it's going to take the whole community.

"A criminal sees a dilapidated structure, and nobody is around there cleaning up, well eventually they think it is okay to go in there and that is like a magnet, it draws other people, and then it becomes a haven for crime," says Dorothy Hubbard\Albany Mayor.

Mayor Hubbard is inviting watch groups, businesses and all clubs and organizations to a service gathering on June 9th at the Civic Center, from there they will clean up the streets of Albany.
