CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

The Crisp Academy baseball team is going after a second straight GISA Class A state baseball title in their rematch with region rival Westwood this week.

This is the third straight year the Wildcats will play for the state title.

They lost to Citizens Christian two years ago.

Last year they swept Westwood to claim their first ever state baseball title.

The chances of a repeat did not look good when the season started.

Crisp Academy lost six seniors from last year's state championship team and changed head coaches right at the start of the season.

First baseman Jordan Howard said.  "We are team, a band of brothers. We came out and did our thing. We are not going to let that stop us. We are going to carry it into this weekend.

John Penney said. "The key to whole weekend is pitching and we have got some really good pitching. defensively we are pretty sound and we hit the ball well. Lately, we have hit the ball well in clutch situations."

The series begins at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Camilla.
