The Dalewood Estates Senior Housing Complex at 824 Willie Pitts, Jr. Road held its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House Tuesday morning.
Dalewood is a Housing Complex designed for people 62 and older. It has 50 one-bedroom apartments, equipped with kitchen appliances.
There is also a common space to be known as the "Dalewood Center" where various activities will be available to the residents.
An on-site complex manager, security personnel and maintenance personnel will be available at the complex. This complex is owned by Dalewood Estates Senior Housing, Inc. Sam L. Hill is President of the Board of Directors and Former State Rep. John White is Board secretary.
The Complex is an Outgrowth of the Trinity Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Dalewood purchased the land and sought funding From HUD to assist in the building of the facility for citizens who need decent and comfortable living Space.
John White, the Board Secretary of the Georgia Senior Housing Complex says, "there are a lot of people in the Albany area still living in basically sub-standard housing. This is America. We ought to be able to provide affordable housing for our elderly citizens."
