The great season for Brookwood baseball team ended in the third and final game of their GISA AA state semifinal series.
Windsor jumped out of the gates with a 3-0 lead in the first inning and increased it to a 4-0 lead in the 3rd inning. Brookwood responded with a 2 run homer by Brad Kinni deep down the left field line to make it a 4-2 game in the bottom of the third. The Warriors pulled even closer in the 4th when Peyton Latmore picked up an RBI single with the bases loaded and no outs to make it 4-3.
However, the Warriors were unable to muster any more runs in the inning which proved to be the difference in the game. Windsor pulls out a 5-3 win in the third and final game of their series.
Head coach Ken Johnson said "You know they have come a long ways and we started a lot of young kids. We started 5 sophomores, a freshman, 2 juniors and a senior. So you know it's a young team. I'm very proud of them, they played well. They played hard. They didn't give up all year. They played hard all year and I'm very proud of them."
Windsor will play at Brentwood for the GISA AA state title later this week.
