Albany Panthers are looking to use the Memorial Day bye week to rest up for the final stretch of the first ever Professional Indoor Football League season.

The entire league is getting the weekend off for the Memorial Day holiday.

When the teams return next week, they all have three regular season games left.

The Panthers are sitting in first place at 7-1 and need just two more wins to clinch top seed and home field advantage in the PIFL playoffs.

The Panthers have a one game lead over Richmond but if the two teams finish in a tie.

The Panthers win the tiebreaker due to strength of schedule.

However, the Panthers are final three games are very difficult.

They host an improved Knoxville team on June 2nd.

Then close out on the road at third place Columbus and then second place Richmond.

General manager Will Carter says the Panthers need one more to win to clinch a home playoff game in the first round.
