Cold case murder charges go to grand jury

The Decatur County Sheriff's Office believes it has solved the cold case murder of Wendy Kay Bryan of Bainbridge, that happened in July 2001 at a liquor store in Bainbridge.

Prosecutors presented the case before a grand jury yesterday and is seeking to have three of four suspects indicted on charges of murder and criminal attempt to commit robbery.

The three men presented to the grand jury Monday were Danterrius Faison, Brandon Dewayne Smith, and Terryl Akins. A fourth suspect, Willie Earl McGriff, Jr. is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter.
