FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -
Phillip Phillips will be honored by the state Saturday. Saturday has been proclaimed Phillip Phillips Day in Lee County.
The city and county will present him with proclamations in his honor at tomorrow's concert.
Mayor Jim Quinn says having the spotlight on Phillips and Leesburg is exciting.
"How exciting is this, Leesburg Native Phillip Phillips coming back to Leesburg for his homecoming, people from everywhere, the whole country is going to be watching us," Quinn says.
State Representative Ed Rynders will make a similar presentation on behalf of Governor Nathan Deal at the concert which begins at three o'clock.
