FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

Of course the people in Phillip Phillips' hometown are going all out supporting their favorite singing star.

At Kinchafoonee Primary School all students received homework passes last night.

The passes said if the students voted for Phillips they didn't have to do any homework.

The idea quickly spread to the other elementary schools in Lee County much to the student's delight.

"I really don't want homework. I'd rather vote for Phillip than do homework," Sonny Manuel, 2nd Grader.

Outside the school 832 red cups on the fence let everyone driving by know Leesburg is Phillip Phillips' territory.

The school even produced a video supporting Phillips and sent it to American Idol producers.
