Too many students who start college never graduate.
Albany Tech is taking part in a new program designed to keep students in school and on track.
It is one of seven colleges in Georgia and only 25 nationwide that are part of Achieve the Dream.
To help raise retention and graduation rates, coaches will come to the school this summer.
School officials hope the program will lead to better outcomes for the students and the community.
Angela Davis, Albany Tech's Grant Coordinator and Compliance Officer said, "that's why we need to look at our data and find out exactly why these students are not persisting to graduation."
Albany Tech also received a $2.4 million grant for its Engineering Technology program.
It will help disadvantaged and minority students complete their educations.
