SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - It was two days after Christmas when relatives of 43-year-old Tracy Blocker discovered what no loved one should ever have to see.

"There were some family members who actually discovered his body and subsequently contact 911," said GBI Agent Matt Marchant.

Blocker had been shot to death inside his home on East South Boulevard. Investigators canvassed the neighborhood the night of and the day after the shooting.

Agent Marchant has spent the past 4-months reviewing the case which always seems to hit a dead end.

"Both the Early County Sheriff's Office and the GBI have expended hundreds of man hours into this investigation. We still try to put things together and see where things fit. There again, we still feel like we're missing something," he said.

As with any murder case, witnesses or tipsters who know who the killer is are crucial. Marchant is confident someone out there knows who murdered this father of 6.

He said, "We feel that there is someone out there or some people out there that we haven't received yet."

The GBI won't release some evidence they've gathered, but we believe two men shot Blocker. And despite a shaky past, relatives say he was cleaning his act and even now, there is no clear motive.

Tips, though, even those given anonymously, could help solve this case.

"If there is someone who is scared, we encourage them  to come forward and let us know what it is you're scared of. The job of law enforcement is not only to serve but to protect," added Marchant.

If you have information about the death of Tracy Blocker... Call the G-B-I office in Sylvester at 777-2080.
