MedBank celebrates 10 years in T'ville

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A south Georgia non-profit organization is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The Lawson Neel MedBank helps uninsured and under-insured people in the area. They help folks get medications they need to stabilize chronic illnesses and diseases.

Founders say the first 10 years have been a success. "As we've been able to get $15 million of free medication to the people and neighbors in our community that need help. That have been trying to decide between their food and medications," said Ed Elam.

The MedBank serves as a facilitator between the patients, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies that furnish free medications.
