ALBANY, GA -

An Albany man convicted of murdering a Dougherty County cab driver in 2005, is demanding a new trial. 24-year-old Hiram Jones made his request in court today.

He was sentenced to two life prison terms in March 2007 when he was found guilty of robbing and killing 42-year-old Jake King.

In November 2005 The Albany Cab Company driver's body was found beside his car in the woods behind a house in the 400 block of Wadkins Avenue.

He had been stabbed in the neck several times. Jones admits he was in the cab, but he says he was not alone.

His lawyers say that's evidence that should be brought out in a new trial. The hearing was not concluded today.

No date for its completion was set.
