Storms roll through South Georgia

Thunderstorms with  heavy rain, high winds and hail, pounded South Georgia Saturday evening.

Downed trees, power outages and hail were reported in many counties.

In Albany, flash flooding closed parts of Oglethorpe Blvd. and Davis Street.

In Southern Dougherty County, a tree fell onto a house and a car on  Homestead Avenue, while downed trees blocked Highway 133 at Nelms Road.

Trees were brought down near the airport in Sylvester and there were several reports of hail in Worth County.

Power was knocked out in some parts of Dougherty, Baker, Thomas, Mitchell, Grady, Berrien, and Atkinson Counties.  

Power lines came down in Bainbridge and trees were down on Yates Spring Road and in the Black Jack area.

Hail was also reported in Berrien and Colquitt Counties.

Golf ball sized hail was reported near Adel between Sparks and Lenox.

There were no reports of injuries or major damage.
