ASU hosts star of Tyler Perry play

from Albany State University

Albany State will host a "meet and greet" with Palmer Williams, Jr., star of the Tyler Perry stage production "The Have and the Have Nots."

Mr. Williams will speak with students from the Dougherty County School System and the Albany State University Performing Arts department beginning at Noon, today.

The "meet and greet" will be held in Eula Lovett Hall adjacent to the Albany State University Coliseum, located on the campus.

In his first Tyler Perry stage production, Williams was a resounding hit in Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor.  Williams can also be seen on Tyler Perry's House of Payne as Floyd, owner of the barber shop.

Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Hospital Administration from Knoxville College in Tennessee.  After graduating from college, Williams continued his musical career by going on to win several competitions at the world-famous Apollo Theatre in New York.

His vocal credits include singing back ground for R&B sensations Keith Sweat, LSG, and Grammy award winner, Monica.  Along with his vocal success, Williams ventured into the theatre with his stage credit, A Good Man Is Hard to Find and the stage play he directed and co-wrote, Where Have All the Good Men Gone?
