The Albany Marine Band will play its last notes in a Valentine's night concert at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.

This award-winning band has been a part of the Albany and SW Georgia community for 22 years. But now, in a cost-saving move, the band will be deactivated later in February.

The Albany Marine Band is made up of 38 enlisted Marines and one officer. The band was selected as the Marine corps band of the year for two consecutive years.

With its deactivation, Albany and SW Georgia will no longer be able to hear their sweet and patriotic sounds at community , military , or other special events.

So make plans to support and thank them for the memories as we send the band off with a resounding SW Georgia farewell!

Their final concert, "Thanks for the Memories" is free and begins at 7:00pm. Valentines night at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.
