ALBANY, GA -
If there's one thing dads like more than doughnuts, it's spending time with their kids. Today at Lincoln Elementary School in Albany, they got both.
Hundreds of Dads went back to school for the Donuts for Dads program. They socialized with kids in the gym as they enjoyed tables full of tasty doughnuts. The goal was to get male role models involved in their children's education, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
"It's fun to be with my dad," said Harrison Skinner, a Lincoln Elementary Student. "I like playing with him, and it was a good opportunity to be here."
"I see the kids having a lot of fun, it was a very organized, I think the parents that are here are really mingling, and getting to know one another and just enjoying themselves," said Harrison's Dad, Robert Skinner.
The event included fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and other male role models. Organizers say they got more participation than they expected.
