Taylor eyes London Games

Posted: Updated:

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  It is the dream of every athlete to get the chance to participate in Olympic Games at least once in their lifetime.

Albany native Angelo Taylor is wanting one more chance to win gold this summer in London.

Angelo Taylor took a break from his training to honor the Monroe state champion track team on Tuesday.

Angelo Taylor has won four gold medals in the Olympics.

Two of the medals were won running the 400M hurdles and the other two were won in relays.

His first gold came 12 years ago in Sydney and Taylor shocked the track world by winning gold in Beijing eight years later.

At 33, Taylor knows the odds are tall in earning a four trip to the Olympics.

He gets his inspiration from one of the greatest hurdlers in track history.

Edwin Taylor said. "Edwin Moses was the same age as I was when he made his third Olympic team at the age of 33. That is a good indication of you know looking at the past history that I can do it. It can be done."

The U.S. Olympic Track and Field trials begins June 22 in Eugene, Oregon.
