Posted: Updated:

Parking should no longer be a problem at one south Georgia hospital soon.

The CEO at South Georgia Medical Center expects this parking deck to be completed in May. They hospital will gain about 600 spaces for visitors, employees, and Valdosta State nursing students.

It's a $9 million project. Sales tax money was used to offset the cost.

"Our hospital authority has been extremely concerned and cautious and has been using as many local contractors on all our projects and Cauthen Construction in Valdosta Georgia is the general contractor of this project," said CEO Randy Sauls.

South Georgia Medical Center is also constructing a five story patient tower that will be the home of the Dasher Heart Center and will be completed late next year.
