
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Tech swingman Janorris Gaines is more than just a scorer.
He is playmaker.
Gaines hit two big three-point baskets and had an assist to lead Albany Tech to a 71-60 win over East Georgia.
Titans coach Sylvester Patterson says the win moves his team into third place in the region.
Albany Tech had a 14 point lead with just over five minutes to play.
East Georgia cut it to 59-55 before Gaines hit his only two three-point baskets of the game.
He also had a dunk and got an assist on a dunk by Robert Ellis to break the game open.
Gaines finished with 24 points and Ellis had 17.
The Lady Titans were red-hot in the second half in their 58-46 win over East Georgia.
Albany Tech women made 6-9 three point shots in the second half to rally from a four-point deficit.
Shakima Wiggins hit six of the three-point baskets and finished with 20 points.
Albany Tech teams play at Chattahoochee Tech on Tuesday and give East Georgia a return game Thursday in Swainsboro.
