With only 4 returning sophomores from last year's squad the Darton College softball team will be relying more their freshman to repeat as region champs.  The Lady Cavs will also looking for strong play from preseason All-American pitcher Katy Jordan. Also coming back will be lead off hitter Amanda Jaskolski and number 3 hitter Chantelle Curinton.

The sophomores have stressed the importance of unity to the incoming freshman and while the team maybe young,  the newcomers are showing they have what it takes to get the Lady Cavs back to the national tournament.

Katy Jordan said "They came in and they got on the right page and we're all on the right page. So we're all on the right page now so we're really excited and domination this year."

Head coach David Dews said "It normally takes a little time fore them to come in and get used to being college players. I'm thinking we're probably going to have some mistakes early but hopefully we learn from them and we're able to move forward. I feel like we have some have some good talent we just need to develop it."

Darton is ranked 18th in the NJCAA preseason poll.  The Lady Cavs open the season in the 1st at Andrew College.
