A family in Tifton recently laid to rest a loved one. 31-year-old David "Chubby" Barnes was shot and killed earlier this month.

The main suspect wanted in the murder has been on the run for three weeks.

The Barnes' family has been putting up pictures of 26-year-old David Summers all over Tifton. They want anyone who knows him to turn him in.

"I remember the day he was born. He was an eleven pound baby," said his Aunt Brenda Lawson.

She also remembers the day her nephew 31-year-old David Barnes was murdered.

"Why did you shoot my son four times,"?  That's the question his mom Faye Stewart is asking. She believes 26-year-old David Summers has the answer.

"My heart is hurt. It feels like someone has a brick on my heart,"said Stewart. On January 7th, David Chubby Barnes was shot four times near the corner of Washington Street and James avenue.

That shooting will make two kids grow up without a father. "The whole world fell on me. I'm hurt and I miss my baby," said Stewart.

Summers is charged with murder and has been missing for weeks. That's why they're putting up his picture all over Tifton.

"When he is caught, it'll be a little bit of weight off my heart. It won't be all off," said Stewart.

"Turn yourself in, because you are going to get caught. It's just a matter of time. My sister can't forgive you, but I can," said Lawson.

The family plans to put together a gun rally. They want people to come and turn their guns in and stop the violence.

If you know of Summer's whereabouts, you're asked to call the G-B-I Sylvester office at (229) 777-2080.
