An Albany fourth grade teacher is finally enjoying the success she deserves.
After surviving the 9-11 attacks in New York and losing her husband to cancer three years ago, she recently won a contest that turned her into a business owner.
She cut the ribbon on her Snap Fitness franchise this morning.
Charlice Noble-Jones finally feels like she is living the life she is supposed to live.
This morning, she cut the ribbon on her new Snap Fitness franchise she won in a world wide contest.
"The community has been so warm and welcoming, we are so successful here, it is not just my gym anymore, it is the communities gym, and I think that is why we won because this was always supposed to be here, I am just the person who brought it here," says Charlice Noble-Jones, Snap Fitness Owner/ Teacher.
Even though she teaches social studies at Lamar Reese in Albany, she says Hawkinsville was the right location for the gym.
And that has been proven by the turn out.
The gym has only been open for 10 days, and already has more than 200 members.
"When I came in and saw this one, I was just totally blown away, the equipment is fantastic, I was just so excited, I love the fitness on demand," says Dianne Lester, Gym member.
Noble-Jones says since fitness was extremely important to her husband while he was alive, she knew owning a gym was the right fit.
"Even if it was before chemo or after chemo therapy treatments, he would always want to work out, because he knew he needed to do this in order to live a more healthy life, or live as long as possible," says Jones.
More time was all they ever wanted, something she is helping her clients achieve.
"And that is what we are here helping people to gain, is more time and more quality of time by investing in their lives," says Jones.
Even with everyone around her concerned about opening a business in this troubled economy, she doesn't seem to be worried.
"We cant afford to not invest in our health, if you look at it, people will spend money on what matters most to them and I would like to believe that people realize that they are their greatest investment," says Jones.
And her 8 year old son agrees.
"I think it is an excellent opportunity for us to start a new business, it has been a struggle without my dad to help us out, so we are trying to work as hard as we can to make that work out," says Preston Jones, Son.
The gym is open 24 hours a day.
