Take a look at this dashcam video. Colquitt County deputies say it shows 19 year old Thomas McKellar driving under the influence at speeds over 100 miles per hour.
McKellar eventually lost control of his car and crashed into the yard of a Colquitt County Sheriff's Deputy.
McKellar was ejected from his car and was unconscious. He was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital.
"They don't think about the real risk being involved to somebody else life. Unfortunately some of these police chases end in serious injury or even death," said Moultrie Police Department Sergeant Daniel Lindsay.
Tuesday night, Moultrie PD arrested 19 year old Tekoy Hutto after he led cops on a chase then jumped out of his moving car and ran.
Police eventually caught Hutto. His car ran into a pillar of a nearby building.
Sergeant Lindsay says the public safety is the number one priority in chases and will call off a chase if it gets too risky for the public.
"At some point of a vehicle pursuit the supervisor on duty have the authority to override the officer and say enough is enough, It's become too dangerous for public safety and we need to stop," said Sergeant Lindsay.
Sergeant Lindsay just wants people to the think twice before running away from police, because they aren't just putting their lives in danger.
"People believe it's easier to try to escape from the police than to just give up and they cause more danger to themselves, extreme danger to the officers and public," said Sergeant Lindsay.
As of Thursday evening, McKellar was still in the hospital in good condition, but as soon as he gets out he'll be heading to jail.
Last year, five Georgia officers lost their lives in the line of duty in automobile crashes, including Albany Police Officer Terry Lewis-Flemming.
