Alabama Fans Hunting for Game Gear

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

We are one week away from the duel in the dome. As players gear up for the game, many Alabama fans are still hunting for their game day gear before they head to the Big Easy, and that means big bucks for area stores.

Hannah Bridges and her friend have been looking all over Montgomery for the perfect Alabama shirt for the big game Monday.

"There's like nothing, nothing at all around right now," Bridges said.

She's getting ready for her first trip to New Orleans to see the Tide take on the LSU Tigers. Hannah lucked up and found two shirts at Campus Spirit in East Chase shopping plaza.

Store clerk Brenda Barron says after Auburn's big win at the Chick-fil-a Bowl game and the anticipation of the BCS championship clothing items are flying off the racks.

"Traffic has picked up for the auburn fans. Of course everybody is anticipating the playoff game in New Orleans so we're seeing traffic pick up, people coming in talking about going to the bowl game looking for shirts, mostly long sleeves to stay warm," Barron said.

Barron says the store went from having close to 250 shirts in three styles to now less than 25 shirts.

"It's been great and I'm looking forward to people coming in and seeing what else we got," Barron said.

Fans are hoping the tide will roll on to a BCS National Championship.

"I'm hoping we win them. I hope we get them. I really do," Barron said.
