A Norman Park woman accused of drowning her granddaughter will soon go on trial for murder.
Grand Jurors indicted Virginia Sims on felony and malice murder charges.
Prosecutors say she threw 6-year-old Alexis Walker into a Norman Park pond June 21st where the little girl drowned.
GBI agents say Sims was upset over marital problems and planned to kill herself but backed out and sought help. She could be tried as early as February
Two state inmates who escaped from Colquitt County Prison have been indicted by a grand jury.
Bobby Lee Gunter and James David Miller disabled electrical wires within the prison which allowed them to escape last July.
Gunter was arrested by U.S. Marshals the following day and Miller was apprehended driving a stolen truck in Macon. Both men are charged with felony escape.
