AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

According to Auburn's Athletic Department it has been confirmed that Michael Dyer who is Auburn's Running Back has been suspended indefinitely.

The reason over Dyer's suspension has not yet been revealed. Auburn's Athletic Department only stated he was in violation of a team rule which triggered the suspension.

Dyer is the only player in Auburn history to top a thousand yards in each of his first two seasons. He was also the offensive MVP in last year's BCS Championship game.

Dyer's presence will be missed on the field in Atlanta, when the Tigers take on Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl

Sources report that Tre Mason will likely step up to fill the offensive gap.
