Thousands lined the streets of Leesburg to ring in some Christmas cheer a little early this year.

The 23-annual Christmas Parade kicked off at 10:00 AM with over 100 floats making their way down Main street.

But the one person everyone was waiting to see was County music star Luke Bryan, the Grand Marshal of the parade.

The city of Leesburg got into the holiday spirit during their Christmas parade this morning.

And it was clear by the screaming fans that Santa Clause wasn't the only one WHO drew the big crowds.

Everyone waited in anticipation for Country Music star Luke Bryan to make his way through down the street.

"I got to touch his hand and I wouldn't let go," says Katie Maddox.

"I really want this autograph," says Macy Rivembark.

He served as the parades Grand Marshal, and was the reason for the extremely large crowd this year.

"Biggest out coming for a parade, last year we had Buster Posey, it was large but nothing compared to this," says Cpt. Monterey Moody, Leesburg Police Dept.

Moody has been working the parade for 13 years and says this crowd is 4 times bigger than usual.

"Oh this is amazing, to grow up here and to walk these streets and see so many people gathered here, it is good to be home," says Luke Bryan, Country Music Singer.

He has been in Leesburg since Thanksgiving and says is enjoying just being home.

"It is really humbling to be here and like I said I tell people all the time in so many interviews that South Georgia, and Leesburg and Albany are just a big reason why I have been able to do this for a living and it is good seeing everybody and every body's support through the years," says Bryan.

He attributes much of his success to his home town and the people that make up the close knit community.

"I am very fortunate because I got to grow up in a small town and few people get to do that and to grow up in a small town and take those virtues and values that you learn and kind of be able to go see the world is pretty cool," says Bryan.

And as for any fans who want to follow in his footsteps...

"Just dream big, it doesn't matter where you are from or what you do just pick what you want to do and don't let anybody tell you, you cant do it obviously," says Bryan.

Luke Bryan says he is looking forward to the upcoming year because he will start touring the country with Jason Aldean.
