Dr. Glenn Dowling, semi-retired podiatrist, wants to thank Albany and surrounding counties for allowing him to practice here for many years. Having raised a family, children and grandchildren, in Albany, he says "Albany has been good to me".
A native of Valdosta, attended Valdosta State University, graduated from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and served two years in the U.S. army. He has been chairman of the Georgia State Board of Podiatry Examiners for eighteen years, member of Georgia and American Podiatric Associations for fifty years. Served on numerous committees of American Podiatric Research and Education. Established and developed Albany Podiatry Associates, a five podiatric medical practice and Albany Surgery Center.
Member of Dougherty County Kiwanis Club, served on many nonprofit service organizations of Albany. Georgia High School Association football referee for forty years, officiating football games over south Georgia.
Primary interest now is in care of diabetic feet, the screening of diabetic patients to prevent infection and/or amputations is primary goal. Southwest Georgia has a high number of diabetics, people with other medical problems that impact foot problems. We want to keep our citizens walking so they can enjoy a healthy full lifestyle.
