How to make tantalizing tomato sauce

Tomatoes. They've been called the 'love fruit' and were once considered a natural aphrodisiac that could spice up your dinner as well as your love life. America Now's Chef LaLa shares a tantalizing recipe for tomatoes that is sure to tempt your taste buds!

There are over 300 varieties of tomatoes grown commercially in the United States. You'll want to start off by looking at your choices. Beefsteak tomatoes are a little dryer than normal tomatoes and they're used mostly for cooking. Roma tomatoes are elongated and also tasty. Canned tomatoes are always a great option too, especially if they come from Italy. The soil and the climate in Italy is prime for the best tomato growing.

The next step is to cut up an onion into fine bits. If onions make you cry, then keep a glass of water nearby to stem your tears. A tale is told that if you're a jealous person, onions will make you cry...but we don't know how much truth there is in that.

Fry up the onions and tomatoes and shake the pan a bit to mix up the flavors. Add some salt and pepper, and a little bit of minced garlic. Saute and stir to your liking, then bring it down to a low and slow heat for 10 minutes.

This simple sauce is as delicious as it is diverse -- it can be poured over pasta or even added to eggs, steak or fish. If not with Mr. (or Mrs.) Right, this tomato treat will at least make you fall in love with its flavor!
