DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

Tuesday, September 20, marks the fifth anniversary of Doris Spillers Worrell's unsolved murder at Jon's Sports Park in Douglas, GA.

Still, no one has been charged with killing her, though in March of 2008, then 39-year-old Glidden Rodriguez and 20-year-old Brandon Cage were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

"At the time of the murder, Glidden Rodriguez was an employee of the sports park. Brandon Cage was not, but at the time of the arrest last week was an employee of that park," said Coffee County Sheriff's Captain Scott Harper.

A Douglas billboard asked for help to solve a mysterious murder. The Spillers family put up a $20,000 reward. Governor Sonny Perdue's office also offered a $5,000 reward.

Doris Worrell's sister, Le Ann Tuggle told WALB by telephone that she and her elderly mother still hold out help that this murder will be solved.

There are over a dozen unsolved murders in and around Coffee County in recent years. GBI agents are still looking into two unsolved cases from 1998, the murders of John McKinnon and the stabbing of 20 year old Christy Meyers.

The oldest case, is the death of Mattie Robinson, found behind an abandoned house in 1974.

GBI agents say they periodically go back over the files on every one of those cases.

Agents are also actively searching for Altamease Sallete who went missing in June of 2001. She was 37 when she went missing and her vehicle was discovered near the Coffee Atkinson Line, but she disappeared without a trace.

If you have any information on these homicides call the GBI office at 912-389-4103.
