Dr. Vithal Kusuma has been in Albany since 1980 practicing Gastroenterology. He earned his medical degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He did residency in Internal Medicine at Osmania University, Hyderabad. Also did 3 year residency in Internal Medicine at Booth Memorial Hospital, New York and Bergen County Hospital, New Jersey. He completed 2 year Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Loyola University and Louis Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Dr. Kusuma was Chief of Gastroenterology and Asst. Professor of Medicine at VA Hospital, University of Iowa before moving to Albany. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has particular interest in general and therapeutic endoscopies including ERCP.
