In what Albany Dougherty Drug Unit officials call possibly their largest drug haul, Lester Joffrion, 31, was arrested, and ADDU displayed the property they confiscated from his home.
By Tayleigh Davis - bio | email ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Sheriff's Deputies and Police made a drug bust in Leary Thursday night, but they're still looking for the suspects.
Our camera was rolling as investigators raided a home on Depot Street. The sheriff of Calhoun County says they collected evidence after serving a search warrant.
They did not make arrests there but they have warrants for several suspects. One led troopers on a high speed chase into Baker County where he ditched his car and ran.
They found cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash, along with other items tied to the drug bust.
The Leary and Edison police departments also assisted in the raid. Neighbors had called repeatedly about drug activity at this home.
"Especially in these small towns," said Sheriff Josh Hilton. "You get a lot of complaints because they see a lot of activity and they call us. It really helps us get a lot more information."
The sheriff says even though no one was at the home at the time, it appeared that children were living there. From the street, we could see two dogs in the backyard, and don't know if they were taken.
We'll hope to have more information on the suspects along with exact cash and drug amounts Friday.
