J. Price Corr, Jr., MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon, born in Albany, Georgia who returned home to practice in 1982. He was a founding partner of Albany Surgical, P.C. in 1986. A graduate of The University of Georgia and The Medical College of Georgia, he completed a residency in general surgery in 1982. He practiced as a solo general and vascular surgeon until joining Dr. Chris Smith and Dr. Gray Rawls in 1986.
Dr. Corr was recently elected a member of the American Venous Forum, a professional association which promotes research and excellence in vein care. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Southeastern Surgical Congress, Georgia Surgical Society, and the Georgia Society of General Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Corr has always had an interest in vein problems—he performed the first vena cava filter placement (to protect patients from blood clots going to their lungs) in Albany in 1984. He has regularly attended the International Vein Congress in Miami since 2004. The majority of his venous procedures are performed under local anesthesia in the office.
