ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Recent crimes have neighbors in Albany neighborhoods concerned for their safety.

One group from an Albany neighborhood met after they say gangs are hanging out in parks near their homes. One is Dellwood Park. They say part of the problem is no lighting in the parks.

Neighbors across town on Rosedale avenue say they call police when they see suspicious activity on their streets. This comes after two men assaulted a man on the corner of Rosedale avenue and Van Buren Thursday afternoon.

"We see things going on and we want to take back our neighborhood. We don't want to turn it over to gangs or drug dealers," said neighbor Victoria Hanes.

Police are still searching for the suspects who robbed that man on Rosedale avenue. Paramedics treated his minor injuries.
