Bagby State Park, in Fort Gaines, Georgia, is one of Southwest Georgia's greatest treasures.
A few weeks ago, the future of Bagby State Park was uncertain.
Today, the people of Southwest Georgia want to personally thank Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Chris Clark, Governor Sonny Perdue, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Congressman Sanford Bishop, Friends of Bagby and many others, for their tireless efforts to save Bagby State Park.
This valuable economic engine in Southwest Georgia is open for business and will remain open only through your continuous visits to Bagby.
There is excellent year-round fishing, boating, golfing, camping, overnight and extended lodging, as well as fine dining overlooking beautiful Lake Walter F. George.
Bagby easily accommodates group conferences, family reunions, church groups, class reunions and more.
But if we don't utilize this beautiful facility, we could very well see it close.
Bagby can give you unforgettable, pleasurable, and most of all, inexpensive vacations right in your own backyard.
