ALBANY, GA (WALB) – AT&T launched a new campaign this week to raise awareness about the risks of texting while driving.
It will feature chilling television ads that include a mother reading aloud the last text her daughter read when she drove into oncoming traffic and was killed.
The aggressive campaign, aimed at young drivers, will be featured in print, television and on line.
At the same time, Georgia lawmakers are considering legislation to make texting and driving a crime.
We hope this legislation passes and we hope all of you will recognize the dangers of texting while driving.
Not only should you talk to your teenagers, you should lead by example.
If your children see you texting and driving, rest assured they'll do it when they start driving, too.
Texting and driving is a threat to all our safety and it must be stopped.
