ALBANY, GA (WALB) – You can help south Georgia children help the children of Haiti.

Kids Against Hunger will pack thousands of meals for Haiti tomorrow at its location in Cairo on 1st Avenue, Northeast beginning at 8 am.

Children and adult volunteers are welcome.

Before the earthquake, the group had a warehouse and distribution organization in Haiti, so the meals can get where they're needed quickly.

Porterfield Methodist Church in Albany is raising money for charity and hopes have a meal-packing event here soon to give children a chance to help.

"I think for kids they are more proactive, rather than being sad they can do something and help their neighbors even though they are not next door or across the street, they're glad to be able to pitch in and help," said Carol Bowe, Director of Children's Ministries.

Porterfield is also collecting products for hygiene kits to send to Haiti.

More than a million Kids Against Hunger meals are already on their way to Haiti.
