Food Bank food giveaways around South Georgia continue to attract large crowds.
At a recent stop in Sylvester, 14,000 pounds of food was gone within just a couple hours.
So far this year, the food bank has distributed more than two million pounds of food to families in our area.

The Food Bank in Albany serves 20 counties throughout Southwest Georgia and partners with more than three-hundred agencies.
The Georgia Peanut Commission has helped with a donation of more than 28,000 jars of peanut butter to fight hunger.
It's bad enough that people who are lucky enough to have jobs are taking furloughs, and going without pay raises to at least keep pace with inflation. For people who are hungry, the negative is compounded.
